Fire Safety Training
Under The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, Fire Safety Training is a vital part of compliance. Our Fire Safety Courses offer hands on experience of various pieces of equipment along with empowering people with the knowledge of fire prevention procedures in the workplace.
P. W. Fire Services offer a range of flexible & affordable Fire Safety Training courses, designed to help save lives and protect your business premises. Courses are designed to reflect the needs of your business and premises, and we offer various levels of training to accommodate the needs of each individual and their professional requirements. A thorough Fire Risk Assessment will identify any areas in which Fire Safety Training is required, and P. W. Fire Services is always happy to offer impartial advice on what training requirements you may have.
Basic Fire Safety Site Awareness
Conducted by one of our Site Service Technicians, this basic level of training is designed to educate and inform members of your staff in the Site Specific Fire Safety measures. This includes:
- showing the locations of fire extinguishers within the workplace
- showing how to operate the extinguishers
- explaining the types of extinguisher and their uses
- showing the locations of fire alarm call points
Duration: Average duration is 30minutes (dependant on the size and complexity of the site/workplace)
Who For: Designed for key operatives who can then pass knowledge on to the rest of the workforce.
Basic Fire Extinguisher Course
This course is designed to give your staff hands on experience on how to use various types of fire extinguishers. While this training is not intended to create fire fighters, it is intended to give your staff members the knowledge and skills required to use a fire extinguisher in an emergency situation. Training includes:
- explanation of the different types of fire extinguishers
- how to identify the different types of fire extinguishers
- how to inspect fire extinguishers before use, identify faults, and what to do with a faulty extinguisher
- hand on usage of various fire extinguishers putting out real controlled fires
Duration: Average duration is 90 – 120 minutes.
Who For: Designed for key operatives/senior members of staff, managers, supervisors. Course is concluded with a small written examination to ensure competency and is certificated.
Fire Warden Training Course
Fire Wardens are often required in a business, particularly where there are numerous members of staff of the workplace area is large. Fire Wardens require additional fire safety training and knowledge to perform their role effectively. This course includes:
- explanation of the different types of fire extinguishers
- how to identify the different types of fire extinguishers
- how to inspect fire extinguishers before use, identify faults, and what to do with a faulty extinguisher
- hand on usage of various fire extinguishers putting out real controlled fires
- fire prevention
- fire hazard spotting
- reporting procedures of fire hazards
- evacuation procedures and management
Duration: Average duration is 180 minutes.
Who For: Suitable for those who are responsible for overseeing fire safety in the workplace, and designated Fire Wardens.
Course is concluded with a small written examination to ensure competency and is certificated.
